Hi there,

Could any one please advise how to synchronize the date and time from a Allen Bradley Controller (1756-L72) to Simatic HMI TP1500 Comfort Outdoor.

I had tried using the Area Pointer time synchronization but not working. It seems like the Area Pointer is only used for Siemen PLC to Simatic HMI only.

Any other recommended methods?

I had attached the configuration details for both HMI & PLC.

Suppose after 1 min (Acquisition Cycle), the HMI time will synch by the PLC time, but it didn't happen. No sure if something miss out/ wrong in the configuration?

Yup, there is NTP option in TP1500. For AB, DCS side will send a pulse via hardwire (example, 6am everyday) to synch the time.

In this case, there will be 2 different time synch method for HMI and PLC.

When displayed out the system event, error was "Date/time could not be set, error code: 13,7" (Byte 7 having problem), that's what exactly what you had mentioned in your reply below:

"And you have to be sure that all the information are correct and consistent. For example the Weekday in fourth right byte has to fit to the data."

This byte cannot be left at "0", it shall be a value between 1 to 7.

generally yes there are more than one ways to do a time snych (at Siemens 1200/1500 there are at least 3 different ways)

you should only use one of them. NTP is a defined protocol and here you will only have to set a few settings in the Panel to get it work.

If you use the area pointer this should basicaly work but you have to use exactly the documented data format.

I would not use an array of INT-> check if you could use an Array of Word or an array of byte.

And you have to be sure that all the information are correct and consistent. For example the Weekday in fourth right byte has to fit to the data.

Show your system alarms in the panels. if it does not work you will get an error alarm with hints where the problem in the data is
