Yes you can with ScreenItem.ForeColor property. 

You can check all properties of an objects and whether or not those are editable from

Which HMI do you use?

In WinCC Comfort/Advanced I think you can only use a dynamisation  of the appereance of the item but not a dynamisation of this by script.

In SCADA Systems like WInCC Prof or WinCC Unified its possible

 Yes you can do it with scripts with Comfort/Advanced too.

I have only done it with Advanced, but cannot see why it would not work with Comfort too.

I´m sorry I was wrong

I made a quick test in WinCC Comfort (only in simulation) and it works as suggested with:

Dim test
Set test = HmiRuntime.Screens("Screenname").ScreenItems("objectnameofButton")
test.ForeColor = RGB(100,100,100)

So additionally to the animations you can also use as script
