SFC editor crashes

I'm trying to use SFC's and whenever I create or a condition and then try to edit the OS comments, the SFC editor crashes and closes. When I then re-open the SFC editor it tells me the SFC is already being edited by <my username> which makes sense since it crashed. I tried to repair the installation and also tried upgrading SFC to SP4, didn't make any difference. When I install PCS7 on a new VM from scratch, I don't have the same problem. So it must be something in my installation. As the existing installation is a lab environment but "sort of" production I would like to just fix the problem, rather than bluntly set up a new VM and reinstall everything. Any idea where I should start looking for troubleshooting this problem?

I set up another fresh installation, resulting in exactly the same problem. I downloaded SFC 9.0 SP5 (which technically is part of PCS7 v9.1) and that does seem to solve the problem on all installations. Earlier I also tried upgrading to SFC 9.0 SP7 (which is part of PCS7 v9.0 SP3 update 2) but that even made it worse; with that version the SFC editor wouldn't even open. But SP5 seems to do the trick.

I do not recommend using software from other versions. If you are still running V9.0 SP2, then SFC V9.0 SP5 is not released/checked for compatibility, only SFC V9.0 SP3 Upd1 or V9.0 SP3 and you may get problems.\ I suggest you update your version to V9.0 SP3 where SFC V9.0 SP7 Upd2 can be used at most.
