HMI does not display analog sensor value read by PLC

abhi5 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello All, I have an S7 1200 1212C PLC and HMI KTP400 Basic. Tia portal v17 I am reading an analog sensor value in the PLC and I want to display it in the HMI. I store the value at memory MD102 and I have used I/O field of the HMI and attached the tag to it. I am not able to show the value. My I/O field shows ####. In the PLC , I can see the value. Please help and suggest what should I do. I am attaching the screenshot of error. Thanks Attachment output of the HMI.PNG (980 Downloads)

abhi5 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello Igor, I tried both the things that you suggested. My communication is connected and I can reach both the device from PC control. I increase the width also of the I/O filed but same error. Attached screenshots for reference. Attachment network connection.PNG (836 Downloads)

Also, just to test, I placed an add block in plc program to add 20 + 30. The data type is Int. I connected this memory MW2 in the HMI as well in the I/O filed and still i get the error #### displayed in the I/O field. Looking forward for help.

Mr.V Silver Member Joined: 6/19/2019 Last visit: 1/20/2026 Posts: 747 Rating: (79)	It seems there are no conection between PLC and HMI, are you sure PLC and HMI connected? both have valid IP adresses? with same subnet? don't show only I/O field or buttons too? in HMI tags menu you you can find your tag witch is used in I/O field and see it parameters, or it take value from PLC tag? If you have bad luck let see like in youtube TIA HMI I/O field tutorial.

If you are using absolute addressing (why would we do that when symbolic addressing is so much easier...), MD2 is what you really want. abhi5 Hello Mr.V, Thanks for answer Yes the data type is Real.
