Is there a way to connect S7-1200 to SQL Server using a domain name (TCON_QDN)?

I don't think it is possible  or at least I'm not aware of any workaroud for doing that using the LSQL library for S7-1200/1500.

The "connectionSettings" input parameter of the "LSql_Microsoft" FB is "LSql_typeConnectionSettings" where the "InterfaceSettings" parameter is "TCON_IP_V4" datatype. So I would say that IP is mandatory in this case.

However I think you can double check this by contacting directly the developers of that library by using the "Profide feedback" form you can find a the end of the following link:
