I've been using the OPC UA Client Library described here to get values from some S7-1500 CPU and it was working well until now on Windows 7/Office 2013 32 bits.

However I've been trying to use it on Windows10/Office 2016 32 bits now and the example provided in the link does not seem to work anymore.

Im guessing the version of VBA as evolved with the last version of Office.

The error code i faced during execution was "automation error". It shows up whenever you want to create an object.

"Private Sub CommandButtonGetEndpoints_Click()

'create instance

Set Sheets(3).m_OpcUaClient = New OpcUaClient"

This line, for example is not working anymore.

What i have already tried without success is the following :

- "Sheets(3).m_OpcUaClient = New OpcUaClient" (remove set)

- " Set Sheets(3).m_OpcUaClient = CreateObject ("OpcUaClient") (wont recognized)

- " Set Sheets(3).m_OpcUaClient = CreateObject ("OpcUaClientLibrary.OpcUaClient") (same without set)

Any VBA expert around here to give me some hints ? Thanks

Hi, needed help,

i used this Excel application. When i hit the getEndPoints button. i am able to get a list of Endpoints. However, all listings are http://opcfoundation.org/UA/SecurityPolicy#None. and etc.

Not [Sinumerik Server@NCU1] [None] [#None] [opc.tcp//192.168.10.10.4840]

What could be wrong, and advise, please.

What happens if you check the Endpoints with UAExpert Test Client? does it show the same?

Which OPC Server do you use exactly?

Thanks for yr reply. I do not hv UAExpert Test Client.

I tested with SinumerikOpcUaClient_ver2.2.0.0.exe. I get the endpoints and manage to connect to NC.

Reasons why i am trying the ExcelClient is that i hv a current application in VB6 that is connected to Fanuc and Mitsubishi controllers. Now i am trying to extend the connection to Siemens controllers.
