'Project ID' area pointer: Connection error

m1ndmaze Joined: 4/25/2023 Last visit: 11/13/2025 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I changed the name of the IPC, added a new windows local user and now when i run WinCC application on the IPC, alarm no. 200105: <'Project ID' area pointer: Connection error> is shown. The same error is shown if i switch back to the other/ original local user. HW Specs: IPC277E SW: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC

In the following link to the manual, he comments on different reasons: 200100 - Area pointer alarms project ID (Basic Panels, Panels, Comfort Panels, RT Advanced)

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 16644 Rating: (1944)	Hello AutoGen_4001544 As suggested you should check the project ID that is set in the HMI project at Runtime settings -> then check in your PLC (that uses this area Pointer) at the DB address that you have set in the HMI Connection at the area Pointer "Project ID" if there is the same value. If not then the connection will not be established! If you do not need this functionality then disable this Area Pointer Bye Murof
