WinCC V7.0 SP3 Update 6

How to have a single I/O-field which shows "TAG2" but edits "TAG1" if operator clicks on it?

I linked "TAG1" to the Input Value-property and "TAG2" to the Output Value-property but this seems not to work. Changing Field Type also didn't work.

I also tested with I/O-field as Input only, but linking a tag to Input Value-property or not,it never writes the entered value to the tag

The idea is to send the entered value to PLC TAG1, PLC does something and returns its answer in TAG2.

WinCC manuals and Information System has little documentation about I/O-fields and if there is something, the help is very unclear.

One solution I can think of is like this:

Link the Tag(Tag1) at OutputValue property of IO.

on the Change event of OutputValue, write a script. in the script Read the value of Tag(Tag2) (using GetTagXX()) and assign the value to OutputValue.

in this way IO shows the Tag2 value but writes to Tag1. I tested it on WinCC V7.3 upd3 and it works here. I did just a simple test without worries about any other scenario. I think it should work on V7.0 also. give it a try. I kept IO field type as I/O field.

A little late but in a test project with internal tags, it seems to work.

I'll have to check this behaviour with external tags later on.

Ended up on this old threat and this is how it worked for me on WinCC Professional without scripts:

Input Value: Tag to display on WinCC

Output value: Tag to write from WinCC

Mode: Input

It makes non sense to me, as I understand input/output in the opposite way. I don´t undestand either why it does not work with mode configured as input/output. But it works.
