I am having a similar problem. I am trying to upgrade the OS on a MP377 to WINCC Flexiable 2008 from the 2007 OS. The MP377 is currently V 1.0.0 and i am trying to update it to 1.0.5.

All my connections are working correctly and i can backup from the MP377 but when i go to update the OS it sits on the establish a connection then starts briefly and stops.

I get the "Error in interface driver" error.

I have tried with Prosave and have a similiar problem. Currently i am communicating over ethernet.

I know the MP377 is communicating because it changes to "transmitting data" fromt he transfer window.

No matter which way i try and do it i keep getting the Error In Interface driver error.

I have already read and followed all the manuals/walk throughs. 

I have even tried using a differant laptop which had the 1.0.3 OS image and attempted to update from that with the same problem. I have tried a different MP377 and also have exactly the same problem.

Is there any service pack or anything that needs to be applied?

Please tell us which cable do you use to update OS.

For this purpose, you can use only one of the followings:

• MPI
• Profibus
• Ethernet
• RS232/PPI

I am using Ethernet cable.

The MP377 has version V01.00.00.00_01.55

I have tried via Prosave and get the same error. I am running winCC 2008 SP3. 

When I attempt to complete the OSUpdate or Device Status I get the following error "The Connection was interrupted! Please check your cable and the target device"

I know communications are working as I can perform a complete backup of the MP377 to my PC without issue.

When I attempt to complete a factory reset i get "Error on interface parameter assignment". Is this due to me not having the correct image file available? I have double checked the MAC address and it is correct.

Is there any way to get the old image files? The oldest i have on my 2007 CD is V1.0.2.

Channel 1 - Disabled

Channel 2 - Enabled

Ch2. Ethernet selected

Remote Control enabled (have tried with disabled already)

IP address is set to static on same subnet at configuration PC.

Both can ping each other for extended periods with no packet loss
