Hello,

I have a S7 300 in my plant and i want to connect it to the OPC Server offered by SIMATIC NET (v14).

I don't want to modify the hardware config of the S7 300 in STEP7. I installed SIMATIC NET on a separate Windows 10 machine and configured with station configurator index 1 IE General and index 2 OPC Server.

Then in Siemens Configuration Settings i added in COML S7 the connection path and IP of the PLC.

In Set PG/PC Interface i set the right interface too.

Then in OPC Scout i am trying to look for the PLC but i can't find anything but the OPC Server which i assume is running on localhost.

I can ping the plc and proof that opc is working is explained below.

Can somebody help me with a solution or point me to the right documentation with an example (with S7 300) please, i beg you?

I downloaded a random opc server evaluation copy to test the connection and configured it 10 minutes without any help or manual, it was working like a charm.

The issue is i have to use SIMATIC NET because long time ago an integrator did a very bad decision.

Also serious question; what is the added value to this already cumbersome and overcomplicated ecosystem by implementing OPC in this manner?

Sorry for the sarcastic flavor, but Siemens Communication Settings, Set PG/PC Interface, OPC Scout and Station Configuration Editor are 4 different programs, very frustrating.
