Stevie S Regular Member Joined: 10/11/2012 Last visit: 10/30/2025 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi I'm testing a basic PUT/GET implementation between two S7-1500 PLC on a plant network and I have a few questions as I am unable to get it working. Background : The active partner where the PUT/GET blocks are is just an S7-1515 with no CP card. Ethernet connection to port X1P1. The 'dumb' partner PLC is an S7-1516F with CP15431. Ethernet connection to the CP card. PUT/GET is enabled on the partner, and DBs are non optimized, currently being read by OPC server for SCADA. Both PLCs are in separate projects, but have adjacent IP addresses. Using an unspecified S7 connection, TSAP 03.01 but I have also tried other slot numbers from 0 to 3 The PLCs are on the same VLAN and the network team have opened TCP port 102. Is there any other network configuration typically required to enable this? Does it matter that the active partner is not using a CP card? Thanks

What I'm missing as most important here is that you have not share accessible data structure and optimized access disabled in case of use DB for access. In case of Merker memory access with Pointer notation, this is ok but pls describe this access better so we can also withdraw next option that can affect your functionality. In case, share code screenshots from code in ZIp or Online access to see values. This kind of problem is everytime like a guess because very careful and deep look at both devices cfg is expected. What is also missing is basic diagnostic from Client blocks ERROR or STATUS descriptions via this is easy to find reasons.

Please check the status of the S7-connection under Connections when you are online. I would also try a ping here to see if the other CPU can be reached in principle. TSAP 03.01 seems OK for this constellation! Regards, Towome

The reason I was testing this is because I'm actually trying to do the same with a PLC in another VLAN, and was just trying to eliminate router config as the issue. It also uses NAT, but I don't see anything about PUT/GET being affected by NAT?

The one thing that threw the network team was that the port number used by the response from the 'dumb' PLC was not 102, but as they put it a much higher port number. Haven't seen that documented anywhere though?
