IO field dynamization ProcessValue with VBScript

vmeskiv Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I need to do some dynamic i/o fields, and I'm having trouble writing the values to the variables. In the image you can see the i/o Fields. I need to change the tags according to the selected ID. This work when I just view the values, but it doesn't let me write the values. Attachment Image01.png (334 Downloads)

Can you shared the full code? With VBScrip, you can refer to any object in PDL, and with indirect tags, you can write whatever you need. Regards

Because your field is not linked to any Tag to write. If you explain what are you trying to do, maybe we can help you. Regards

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 16644 Rating: (1944)	Hello vmeskiv If you want to use different tags in one IO field then you cannot set the HMI tag directly to the utput value of the IO Field. leave it empty and use two scripts: reading: create a Script at the Output value of the IO Field (if you have different tags you want to address then you cannot use a tag trigger, for this you would have to use a cyclic trigger, this is not nice but will not work in another way)-> here build your tagname dynamically as string in the Script and read the value from tag management and write it to the output value writing: use the event -> Property Topics-> Output/input-> Input Value-> change here you can do the same inthe other way-> the event is raised if the input is finished, in the input value you have the new value and in the output value you have the old value at this specific moment. Then you can do what ever you want with it. (also write it to a dynamicly build tagname) But in this case I would do it in a different way, I would use a ScreenWindows with Tag prefixes, if you select another struct/index then you can change just the tag prefix and all the IO fields will show the new values/or write the new values -> this is the best way do fulfil such a use case Bye Murof
