Your trigger (200 log entries, or midnight) should call an FB to handle log closing and creation.

Since each log needs to be uniquely named, you will probably want to add today's date to the log's name.

At midnight, close the current datalog, then get local system date, use current date to create a new datalog name.

(You need an FB so the state of the data log closing, and creating can be monitored and stepped through using something like a state machine you build in your logic)

Hi All,

So far I've managed to successfully create my data log, which will now overwrite the first entry after 200 entries.

What I'm trying to do now is to have a new log created every day, or after 200 entries. I've made a trigger that activates at midnight every night for this purpose which I've not included in the test program as its not necessary.

My problem is I cannot seem to figure out how to create a new log. I've attached an example of the program I'm using. I've removed all the data I'm actually using in the factory and have instead created a counter activated by a switch input just for some data to send to the log.

• S7-1500 CPU (S7-1200 used in attachment, using this for testing)
• Tia portal v16
• Data log being saved to webserver
