Hello; To my knowledge you cannot use a ET 200SP CM CAN with a S7-1200 CPU, as you have already experienced. One gateway suggested for the S7-1200 is the 3rd-party HMS (Ixxat) CM CANopen, as described in this Application Example: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ca/en/view/109479771 If you look at the screenshot below, from the Siemens Industry Mall, you will see the notice that ths CM CANopen is not produced directly by Siemens: "The CM CANopen module is an HMS Industrial Networks product and can only be obtained through HMS." More information for the CM CANopen can be found on the Ixxat site (they recently acquired HMS Networks), with the part number 021620-B: https://www.ixxat.com/products/canopen-plc-extensions/cm-canopen-module There are other gateways to CAN that you can use with a S7-1200, from Anybus or SSTautomation, for example. SSTautomation Profinet/Canopen gateway Hope this helps, |

Hello, something says to me that this some specific library also include S7-1200 CPU implementation, with S7-1500 also of course. Take a look at Forum somewhere because your tested prj can be only specific HW related (in this case to S7-1500). Yes, Daniel already sugested that CM for S7-1200 from Ixxat that is only for S7-1200 CPUs. Pay attention of course to required min. firmware and TIA version for your CPU, I think that in general documentation is also this available (maybe with also that library). Update: yes, this is link I've found where description is clear about S7-1200 with different block name usage. Sry, I don't have a chance to open it but there is clear info that Help is included with this library and TIA from v15.1. This can be your solution but what exactly that library does (CAN transparent or CANopen) I don't know. CAN Library for ET200SP CM CAN module |
