jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, If you solve this via Profibus DP, the data is automaticly triggered (cyclic transmission each bys cycle). Amount of data is fixed. The S7-300 is seen as a kind of decentralized perihpery (I-slave). If you need more flexibility (accessing on demand variable data), you could also try an one-wayS7 connection (esablished by the S7-400). The S7-400 can now act on demand, using the GET function (=read data) or PUT function (=write data) to access variable data into the S7-300. And the S7-300 can still be master of its own DP slaves if needed. Could also be nice.
