SINAMICS V90, SIMOTICS S-1FL6 - STO Fault

ab1992 Regular Member Joined: 6/22/2017 Last visit: 11/27/2023 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody, I use a Drive model V90 (6SL3210-5FB12-0UF0). On the STO of this drive I have connected signals from a safety relay, which are used for a safety barrier. When invaded this barrier several times in a short time interval the drive has a fault (F1611: SI CU: Defect detect-ed Message class: Safety moni-toring channel has identified an error (10) Reaction: OFF2 Acknowledgment: IMMEDIATELY). This happens in three Drives, thus ruling out the possibility of a defect in the equipment. Another possible cause is to have a high signal in the STO1 and low signal in the STO2 (Or vice versa) as in the attached image, I imagined a delay when the safety relays are actuated, however the failure in the drive is only activated after 2s, long time for a delay in the closure of the safety relay, and therefore I also discarded failures in the safety relay. The only way to eliminate the fault is to power the drive off and on. Has anyone experienced this and knows how to solve this problem, avoiding failure? Attachment STO Fault.png (850 Downloads)

In case the signals for hardwired STO come from a device which do sporadic dark tests you need to disable the dark tests at that device (e.g. F-DO of PLC).

Be aware of the control of hardwired STO -> your F-DO might do sporadic dark test which needs to be disabled.
