Hello World :)

I would like to know how I could know if the communication between my WinCC RT professional and my PLCs are Ok or not.

I know there is an object to do it. However I want to know with a BOOL if the communication is on or not.

There are some proposals, how to get the communication status between PLC and WinCC.
It's mostly described for WinCC Classic, but the key concepts should stay the same for TIA as well.

In my personal opinion, I finally found the easiest way.

I created a tag in the HMI in a special way:  @ name of connection @ConnectionState

p.e: if the name of my connection is "HMI_Connection", we create @HMI_Connection@ConnectionState. When this value is "TRUE" the connection is OK. However, if it is "FALSE", the connection is over.

At the end. my system needed a watchdog so here is my solution:

I created a Scheduled task with a period of 1s in winCC rt Professional

 This is my function:

Function Action()
    If SmartTags("Watchdog_BEAC_SCADA") = 1 Then
          SmartTags("Watchdog_BEAC_SCADA") = 0
    End If

End Function

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Watchdog_BEAC_SCADA  is the Tag that Works as Watchdog

Can we use this in TIA Portal V15.1 RT Professional as well ?
