If you look at CP in online mode then you will see how much utilized S7 connections, how much basic connections and so on. One type of communications there is PG communications. So I think it might be some special case of comms. To use S7 communication you should set it up in NetPro, but you don't need to setup anything to connect from PG or SCADA PC. I may be wrong, but I think its special type of protocol with support of breakpoints and so on.

Basically communication between PLC and SCADA system, the easiest way is via OPC Server. And here we could find a lot examples using SimaticNet OPC server and some type of S7 communication. (MPI, Ehternet or Profibus). And for this is better to have more details... Regards Hristo Mihalev

Is it S7 communication ? I don't think so, I think this is some kind of special communication with special abbilities. How do you think ?
