Hi, as you have given a general question to us, you will get a general answer. One method is communication via i-device as described in following FAQ. Configuration and Application of the PROFINET I-Device Function

Hi Sancruz, The setup I have is: CPU 1516F-3 PN/DP V2.9 (TIA V18) CPU 319F-3 PN/DP v2.8 (Step 7 V5.7 SP1) They are in the same subnet and communication via Profinet. I already have an S7 connection between the 2 CPU's. The 319F also have a fail safe connection with an other 319F, this connection is an S7 connection with the blocks F_RCVS7 and F_SENDS7 I don't find the blocks F_RCVS7 and F_SENDS7 in TIA, only the SENDDP and RCVDP blocks. But then I have to use a PN/PN coupler? If I want to use the i-device option, which CPU should I use as the controller? Regards Gunther
