I am on a project using a s7-300 PLC (6ES7151-8AB01-0AB0) and a S120 with two motors and one line module. 

My problem is that everytime I turn on the electrical cabinet my automate displays an error (error in lower componant). All I need to do to fix the problem is to switch the PLC to MRES and switch it back to run and the error is no more.

The problem is that when the machine will be over the operator that uses it will have to do the operation everytime he truns on the cabinet. And for the safety it's not great.

I was wondering if there was a way to do the MRES with a siemens function or something with a button on an IHM ?

 What you should do, is fix the issues reported in the PLC diagnostics buffer. One of them is a missing OB82 for example.

Well the problem is that there's no problem with my S120 when I power up the cabinet all the component are ready to go. The weird part of the project is that I work on Tia Portal to program the PLC but for the S120 I use STARTER and not the startdrive solution because it gives me more problems. And I have a GSD device for the S120.

The other thing is you told me that when starting up the S120 diagnostic displays no error just that everything is waiting to be turned on.

(sorry it's in french but it basically says the CU is ready and the others are waiting to be turned on)

I tried to do what I think is the proper way to send ack bit with the parameter p2102 of the CU which is the ack of all default and then tried the parameter p2103 of the others to reset the default but nothing worked.

And for the OB82 I don't see why I would need it but I'm on it.

Those errors are normal when powering up a Sinamics drive.

You might consider using a Siemens "telegram" block that matches your existing telegram(s).

For example, after the S120 is powered up, you can provide operators a means to reset drive faults (sent an ack bit via telegram control word) for the system, or just to components like the line module and motor module and eventually to the CU if necessary.

Normal power up sequence for me for S120's with CU/LM/MM is CU is always powered up by system 24V power.  Prevents lots of problems and helps with startup sequencing.

Once power is applied, the LM will eventually send status word changes to indicate it has power and is ready to start (power up).  Send fault reset and enable it.

Once LM status word changes and says it's basically ready to power the MM, send fault reset to MM, and then control motor as required with OFF1/2 (assuming OFF3 is related to safety system happy).

Hello everyone,

Well I fixed it. Wasn't complicated even tho I still don't know why I had this kind of error. The solution I found was just to delay the start of the PLC so that the S120 is turned on first. If someone knows why I would still like to know but I'm moving on with the rest.
