I found relevant information here, can you further throw some light on our case: We would like to install a braking module and resistor for our standalone
spindle drive converter system in our Karatsu CNC lathe. The CNC system
is operated by FANUC controls, with a CU320 running the spindle. I am assuming after connecting the braking module and the resistor the ALM, will both regenerate and the excess energy will then be dissipated into the braking module, is this correct? Are there parameters to setup or control this process, how will changing parameters like rampdown time have an effect on this? The following are the details of the motor and converter systems components.
