I am trying to communicate a ABB HMI with siemens s7 200 PLC.

Can anyone please explain me how to communicate ABB hmi with siemens plc.

HMI = CP607

CPU = S7 200 (ST20)

You need pay attention to HWs role here for first, HMI is expected to be Master here generally so all cfg are required there to initiate some kind of comm exchange data. One really quick and easy channel I see Modbus RTU/TCP, just as your ABB has available and then implement on S7-200 side, directly or via expected specific Gateway in case. Because you ask for Smart HW family I recommend carefully check Modbus blocks available on your HW. last way can be change specific ABB comm type to Smart S7 via specific Gateway so both sides will be fine with this.

I would like to point out an important detail: the OP wants to work with a ST20 CPU, which is part of the S7-200 SMART PLC family.

The S7-200 SMART were designed especially for the south-Asian market and are maintained strictly by Siemens India. We in Europe and America do not have access to much information on them.

The S7-200 SMART CPUs are different from our own S7-200, the ST70 has both a serial (RS-485/RS-422) and an Ethernet port which supports Profinet amongst other protocols.

Look up which protocol the ABB HMI can work with, and select which one you can use to establish a link to the ST20..
