Named destinations should also work for Evince when using the required runEvince.sh script.

However, you must specify a named destination. A PDF file with bookmarks will always have such named destinations, but the names will usually not match the bookmark text, e.g. because the destination does not allow spaces. So you need to get the destinations first before using them as parameters.

To test a destination on your computer, you can create a simple HTML file containing a link in the format 

<a href="pdf-file-name.pdf#named_destination">My PDF File</a>

Opening the HTML file in a modern browser and clicking the link should take you to the specified destination.
