S71500 OMS+ Driver Add Tags

G_R_E_Y_31 Bronze Member Joined: 5/26/2011 Last visit: 9/10/2025 Posts: 482 Rating: (7)	Hello experts. There's a system that has S7-1500 CPU (TIA v15.1) and WinCC v7.4 for SCADA. They want to add a few equipment in the SCADA. When I checked the WinCC project, I encounter this seemingly system-generated tags. I'm only used to the usual manual creation of tags in WinCC via I, Q, M, or DB. I'm thinking this has something to do with the OMS+ channel driver used for the S7-1500, is it? Anyway my biggest question is, after adding some program blocks via TIA v15, how can I possibly add some tags (and eventually graphics) in this type of tagging scheme? Thanks a lot! Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/12/2025 Posts: 16409 Rating: (1935)	Hello G_R_E_Y_31 there are several ways of creating Tags over the OMS+ Channel. have a look at this FAQ: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/101908495 I would recommend using the SCADA Export Tool or connecting online to the PLC and select the needed tags. An absolute addressing should only be used in special configuration and also you would need non optimized DBs (which you will not want to be used in S71500) Bye Murof
