i have a question in relation to that topic 

i have the CPU CPU 1516F-3 PN/DP the maximum number of I/o is related to the port x1

if i have more than the allowed number of profinet I/O devices (256) 

can i add a CM card "6GK7 542-1AX10-0XE0" to split the network and with that exceed the number of I/Os and will that affect the Performance of the CPU ? is it better to upgrade the CPU to 1517F version and then i have 512
