License USB reading issue in Automation License Manager

On my local machine, the USBs are readable by the Automation License Manager but on the VM where I want to install the licenses, the USBs are read by Windows but not by the Automation License Manager installed on the VM. Is there an option or a way to make the USB visible on the Automation License Manager of the VM? Thank you

0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16371 Rating: (2522)	You can do what I did when I had a VM... configure the host PC as a license server with "transfer" enabled. Then in the VM, added a connection to the HOST computer in ALM. Once you can see the host PCs licenses, you can drag and drop into the VM. However, I recommend if you can do that to protect yourself and instead configure the host PC's ALM to allow "check-out" and not transfer. Then your VM will simply check-out the host PCs license anytime it needs it. Added benefits: If VM gets corrupted, no license gets lost. Host PC can use license anytime the VM is not using it.
