I have a new Logo! Soft Comfort software installation from DVD, 6ed1058-0ba08-0ya1 (version 8.4.1) on a Windows 11 laptop. The plc is directly connected via ethernet and a usb-ethernet adapter. The plc is 6ed1052-1md08-0ba2 with version 1.84.03 running. IP addresses are fixed and set correctly. The pc can ping the plc and the plc can ping the pc. The software cannot connect to the plc.

are the the USB Ethernet adapter and the LOGO! in the same IP subnet?

@Ella68 ... At present, I suspect that this is the most likely cause of the problem. I've been through various relevant PDF manuals and I have not found what I need. What firewall ports do I need to open to allow these devices to communicate?

@ixo65 ... The PC and the PLC are both on the same subnet. The PC is on 192.168.0.10, the PLC is on 192.168.0.25. This is an isolated network with just these two devices and no router/gateway to the outside world. The PC can ping and see the PLC. The PLC can ping and see the PC. I'm nearly there!

The USB-Ethernet adapter and the PLC are on the same subnet. The PC has no other network connection enabled (WiFi is turned off. No alternative wired Ethernet port available). No external networked resources are available to the PC - just the PLC I'm trying to program.

The USB-Ethernet adapter on the PC is set to 192.168.0.10, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 . This PC has no other network connections enabled. This is an airgapped, isolated network with only two devices present, directly connected to each other.

The PLC is set to 192.168.0.25, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 .

Using the 'ping' command, the PC can see the PLC. Similarly, using the 'ping' command on the PLC front panel, the PLC can see the PC.

I strongly suspect that the issue is caused by the network firewall on the host PC, running Windows 11 with the default settings. What network ports are used for communication between these devices, so I can verify they are enabled in the firewall settings?
