Connect to seven S7-300 CPUs on MPI bus over one S7-300 CPU with CP 343-1

AutoGen_783642 Joined: 7/18/2025 Last visit: 8/1/2025 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have received the glorious task to “remake” an old HMI of a firm that is no longer with us in WinCC RT Advanced. I have this topology: PC/HMI → ETH → CPU314 (314-1AG13-0AB0) + CP 343-1 (343-1CX10-0XE0) → MPI → 7x CPU314 (314-1AG13-0AB0) I'm able to reach all 8 CPUs over Ethernet with Step 7 5.7. I'm able to reach the first CPU with my TIA WinCC HMI. Now my question is, how can I configure the connections in TIA in order to reach the other CPUs? Is it even possible? I've read about routing - but as far as I understand it won't be possible with my CPUs since they don't support it. Is there a different alternative to buying a CP for my HMI and connecting it to the MPI bus? I'm using TIA V20 The PLC project should stay in Step 7 5.7 I appreciate any help in this matter, thank you! -Philipp

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 16290 Rating: (1930)	Hello AutoGen_783642 The only chance for this exact topology would be S7 routing but this will not work with TIA V20, because you would need PLC Proxy device of your PLCs from the Step7 Project in TIA. But With V20 you cannot work with a Proxy PLC out of a Simatic Manager Project. With V19 it should work: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/73502293 (Chapter 3.7) If you have to use TIA V20 then you can only use direct connections like Ethernet with CPs or MPI/DP with also a CP but on PC side Bye Murof
