C Script to VB Script

AhmedSaber99 Advanced Member Joined: 5/7/2018 Last visit: 6/28/2024 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello All I was trying to change the TagName property for a trend using a C script but once I use the strcat function necessary for my code, everything stops working and all Scripts in my project no matter how simple stop working totally and I have to remove the strcat function and restart the computer in order to be able to use scripts again. anyway I've written a code that I'm confident would work but I need it converted to VB script. I'm using WinCC Professional V13 SP2 and my code is: char* Part_1 = GetTagChar(".Motor_Tag"); const char* Part_2 = ".Run_Trend"; strcat(Part_1,Part_2); SetTagChar("@NOP::TrendTag",Part_1); SetPropertyByTag(screenName,"Trend_Motor_1","TrendTagName","@NOP::TrendTag"); where .Motor_Tag is a string where the tag prefix is stored which is part of the UDT used for the screen window containing all this. You have to be sure that you have allocated enough memory for the whole string. If you are not experienced in using String Allocation then you should read i C Programmin Books or look here for some examples: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/7929092 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22727197 (This are FAQs from Classic world but its the same in TIA) Bye Murof
