WinCC Scripting Errors

DouglasBrown Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Problem: The WinCC program hangs when add any script to a button or other object and compile it. I end up having to end WinCC via CTRL+ALT+DEL and restarting the server that WinCC is installed on to use WinCC again. When I restart the server, I get the message "SCRIPT encountered a problem and needed to close" (I've attached this error). Immediately after that, I get another error, "User Context Surrogate for WinCC encountered a problem and needed to close". Has this occured for anyone else? Solution: ??? DouglasBrown Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	It isn't a problem with the script. The script could be something as simple as: int tempFunction(void) { return 0; } It still hangs during compiling and I need to restart the system.

If that not function, create a new project and try again. If you get this error again, you should reinstall WinCC (worst case). You Global Script has get an error. That can be caused byincorect using of char-arrays and -functions. regards cumulus

I discovered that when I made the user in the User Administrator panel I led myself to beliave that I gave myself all the rights required by checking all the boxes. One of the boxes I checked happened to be a "Monitor Only" box. Palm to Face! Since then I have run into another issue. Not neccessarily an issue I guess, but more of a WinCC programming novice question. When I click a button on a thin client, I set project wide tag high. I then have a global script on the server monitoring that bit. When it goes high, the global script runs and populates a ComboBox. Thats what I want it to do anyway. My question is, how to I get a screen object when running global script? Dim thisScreen Set thisScreen = HMIRuntime.Screens("config_parts.pdl") Set CBx = thisScreen.ScreenItems("CBxDunnageTypes") That doesn't work?
