Hi, I supose that you have also a SIMATIC NET driver installed..... When the driver is installed then you have directly a API - call interface in your Honeywell station and a OPC interface (or both). You don't have to do then anything further after you have defined the communication link in Netpro and load that on both sides. See the example and click (onces) on the OPC or (onces) on the Application and see the communication link on the screen on the bottom. AttachmentHoneywel.zip (506 Downloads) |

Hello, have you ever read the Application WAN Access Methods ? If you use a VPN Tunnel here you may get the safest way to interconnect both sides. VSAT usually runs IP protocol and should be able to handle VPN Tunnels. I do not know if your VSAT System runs on static or dynamic IP's but anyway, you could establish a VPN even with only one public IP, idependent if static or dynamic. To communicate between both systems you may use S7-Communication too, in this case the S7 does not need to run any blocks, everything is being done by the OS on the PLC. If you insist on a none VPN solution you may also use Port Forwarding, see the same App. Then you have to decide what to do, either TCP, UDP or ISO on TCP. S7-Communication from a PLC to a PC with an HMI is not known to me... at least not for a non SIMATIC System. I hope this leads you a step ahead. Best regards J_Bell |
