Connecting issue with S7 200 to Vista

Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Import of a Technical Question of an User ChrisSanterre I recently purchased everything I needed to program the S7 200. Prolific USB to Serial Adapter. Programs runs great and the cable is seen in Device Manager. USB's working. When I try to connect to the PLC I get the timeout error. I have checked the ports in both the program PPI and Device Manager. I tried all of this equipment on my xp system and plug into the USB, program, and connect cable and yes, it works just fine. Is vista giving me the trouble. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Even Siemens PC USB adapter needs very special new driver like precondition to work in Vista. (SIMATIC PC Adapter USB Software V2.0) I don't know maybe with updating drivers or adding SP to Vista...
