Is it possible to connect a mobile panel connection box to your own company ethernet ?
We have several Fixed in place Simatic Touch panels connected to our ethernet which allows us to access info and control part of our production lines. I want to add a mobile panel which will give us the ability to control our m/c's at other locations to allow setting of m/c parts. At the moment this takes 2 people, 1 setting and the other controlling. I have set up and tested aTP177B with access to 3 different lines, each with their own PLC and it works OK by plugging in to our ethernet as the fixed HMI's are. I want to integrate the lines safety circuits and so want to use amobile panel, MP 177PN, to allow us to do this. As these connect to their own connection boxes I need to know if it is possible to connect to a standard ethernet ?
