Desertec Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello There is no communication between PLC 115 U system and Industrial PC (CP 1430 TF and MS- DOS 6.22 Based HMI PCs). Based on my invistigation this system is based on SINEC H1, 10base2 Thin Ethernet ( RG58 cabling and AUI to RG58 transciever ) the network card is 3com ethernet Elink III combo ,which approved for industrial applications(3c509 driver) by Novell as ODI, I have checked DOS directory , I have found special drive called DOS PDS-SE Siemens Ethernet Interface v 3.2 Copy right 90-92 by Open Concepts Inc. I hace run the configuration observer: showcfg,exe <Enter> it gave me: Buffer=16; Queue size=32 ; MaximumCircuits=32 Error Occurred= 0DFF. I have download the CP1430 TF configuarion( FD=>CP) again, but no progress. all hardware seems to be ok. but we still have no communication on the logo view plant mimics. Any body could help (since the system should have serial data transfer, or non open service under TF communication ) in A115 U side or DOS OS ?

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Desertec, I am sorry but the software you discribe is absolutely not known to me at all. I even think that this is not a SIMATIC Software. The earliest software that supported a standard Ethernet NIC was, as far as I remember S5-DOS ST with SOFTNET H1. The release of this software has been around 1995. If you expect this software to be this you should have a SINEC directory in the root of C:/. Do you have this directory? If not I am affraid I can not help you at all. Best regards J_Bell

The good news are the TF Manual is part of this post (funny... just if you take a document CD... just about 8 years old ... and you have what you look for), the bad news is that I can not post you the Triax-Manual. Now it is called AdQue Digital Display Systems , they sent to me the error record of PDS driver , but I did not find the my error mesage any way it gives an idea about the system configuration . here is record with siemens related items I would like to know wether the CP 1430 should have copy of FBs and OBs in the memory? I do not know, as more as I see form this company the less I have the feeling that this driver has anything to do with SIEMENS or has been shipped by SIEMENS at all.. but anyway. As far as I have read in the document you have posted here I think that the driver is not using TF but SEND / RECEIVE. As this is the case we have two chances, first it uses SEND / RECEIVE in both directions. In this case the PLC requires FB’s which are called FB_SEND / FB_RECV. The problem is that the number of FB’s for this function depend on the PLC CPU you use. In every case you would need two times the SEND and two times the RECEIVE block in the PLC. One for the "direct" job and one to communicate with the CP at all, called "all". Additionally you need the "Sync" block in OB 2X. I hope I will find a sample for this as an FAQ. Check this: How do you configure S5-compatible communication to the SIMATIC S5 via Industrial Ethernet for the SIMATIC NET OPC server with the SIMATIC NET PC software? starting at page 19... I think for the S5. In the second case, if you use the functionsFETCH and WRITE,you only need the SEND and RECEIVE "all" blocks. Check this: How do you set up a Fetch/Write connection (S5-compatible communication) to the SIMATIC S5 via Ethernet for the SIMATIC NET OPC server with the SIMATIC NET CD 07/2001 or higher? starting at page 24... I think for the S5. To decide what type of functions is being used we would have to check your configuration in the CP 1430 TF. Best regards J_Bell

Desertec Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Thanks J_Bell you r right , it is using Fetch/Recieve , what happend that the staff has changed NIC Cards of the system (PCs) with including the changes to TF transport connection ( MAC addresses not included) and because it is non open service (no need to make changes under DOS 6.22).I will add the missing MAC addresses of NIC Cards., but I am not sure wether I have make change in the related FBs(FB238-239,241-251).and thePCs has 6NICs before.since it uses 115U CPU 945. Any way ,because most S5 Stuff is obseleted we plan to migration to S7,but in mean we would like to reduce the Down time of plant.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Desertec, well, as far as I see you will have to make changes to the remote MAC Address settings in the CP 1430 TF configuration. The only thing to change, from my point of view is the remote MAC Address everything else may stay as it is. If it is possible and the NIC allows it you also may change the MAC of the used NIC in the PC, but as said only if the NIC allows this. (Not really many do) Best regards J_Bell
