The DI modules with that diagnostics capabilityshould be used with NAMUR sensors. There is always a small voltage even if the signal state is zero. Regards Sydney

Normaly for each 4 digital input consider 1 fuse.andpower of fuse (that supply these)goes to 1 digital input else. so when the 4 main digital inputis valid that the digital input related to fuse is correct. it was typical,you can consider 1 for 2 digital input or ....

WinCC evaluates all of it's tags, so it should be possible to check if any tag (digital or analog) is working properly. One thing we do, is configure dynamic colour changes. Say we have a valve, which can be open or closed. The symbol's natural colour is grey, but the colour change states it is red for 0 (closed) and green for 1 (open). Now, I know that a digital signal can only be 0 or 1, but if WinCC cannot connect to the PLC for some reason, the valve will turn grey (the signal is neither 1 OR 0)- indicating a problem.
