Script Overflow

Donehill Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	I used the WinCC 7.0 OS project editor to generate the template and alarms. In the process alarm list, there is an event stating that "SCRIPT:MyComputer:OVERFLOW; number: 1007000; and comment: ActionOverflow: More than 10000 Actions to work. My process alarm list is unable to load new event and is stuck at the overflow event. How do I clear the overflow?

ranr_mids Bronze Member Joined: 12/5/2005 Last visit: 8/9/2021 Posts: 289 Rating: (19)	The only cause of overflows I have experienced is scripts waiting for something to do / happen. While a script is running, WinCC can do nothing else - and the requests stack up behind the bottleneck until an overflow occurs. To limit / prevent this, I tend to seperate my scripts into blocks,that can be run on demand, and have one script that runs every second to check for the 'triggers' of the others. I know cyclic triggers are heavy on resources, but one cyclic is better than a bunch of 'on change', and WAY better than an if/else loop continually looking for something.
