I need to register some values from a measuring device, but when this device is moved to another place i need to start the register with a clean archive.I don´t need to keep this values, i just export them to an Excel table. As easy as it sounds but no so easy to do with WinCC. But the issue here is not the application itself,the issue isthe way to do what i want. When i started to think about register the data, i naturally think about "tag logging", because is the "natural" tool to do the job. But i was surprised when i discover that you can easily record data but it´s not so easy to delete them, in fact i can´t found how to do it with WinCC, somebody tell me thati need some "special options" like ODK or Connectivity Pack, but i think this is a very common task and this task must be doable with the basic software and without a very extensive scripting. Obviously i understand the protective criteria about preservingthe data, but againyou must have a way to do it if you want. I check all the FAQ, the manuals, etc. but i can´t found anything about my problem. When i make a post in this forum the answer was: "you can´t do it inside WinCC Runtime, you need an external application to do it" or "you need to go to the development tool to reset the tag logging fast and slow" , and i don´t understand why if you are able to create the data you can´t delete it. To be clare, I NEED TO DELETE THE DATA IN RUNTIME, BUT WINCC DON´T PROVIDE ME THE TOOLS TO DO IT (or i can´t find them), thats the reason of my post. Anyway, i solve my problem (but i don´t use the very tricky "tag logging"). I simply make a "User Archive", i made a cyclic script to write the values into the archive and another script attached to a button to erase the data ( with all the check boxes and messages, and available only to a certain level of user to prevent the accidental erase of data). The procedure i design is working and now i have more time to investigate the "tag logging" problem. Of course if anybody know how to do it, it will be apreciated. Regards rcrivi

Sorry rcivi, i don't think is "Tag logging Problem": "Tag Logging" has been designed to "store historichal data", NOT just for create temporary tables. At the end, the solution to use Addon like Connectivity pack is good but not if you have to use for one tag only; User Archive is the best for your application but you need license to use it. Regards
