Error while installing SQL2005

Delphoe Posts: 120 Rating: (1)	Hi, Pro I'm trying install SQL2005 on my laptop which has 2Gb Ram, Chip coredual T7200, Hardware 250Gb. When I try to install SQL2005 it informs me the error of " string variable is not large enough for strings, please check the declaration.". I can't figure out what trouble I meet. Please, help me. SP1 is over a different a DVD than SQL2005; did you installed SQL before trying to install SP1 ? If yes, try to look how long is your "path" lenght enviorment variable and if you are using all lenght (My computer properties -> Enviormant variable). If everything is okies, can you post a screenshot of SW installed from SIAMTIC menu and from Windows Control Panel? Regards

However, When I install SQL 2005, it automatically installs SP1 hotfix and at this step I meet the trouble. I've followed your instruction and log in variable environment of my computer. However, I don't know what I have to do next. Please, instruct me more details. Thanks a lots. Nice days.
