Actually it depends on the type of line you may use. I now expect you have a analogue dial line... with a standard Modem, K56flex or V90 / V92. These solutions are possible. Teleservice with Teleservice Adaptor II or IEto connect on MPI or on Ethernet, additionally the Teleservice Software V 6 is required. AModem connection with Ethernet Dial in/ outRouter, check this document: WAN Access Methodsand check here especially the document: Connection via Dial in/out analog Routers. SINAUT would also work here with a Modem solution. Well, there are also certain 3rd party solutions to use... but these you better check for yourself. Best regards J_Bell

Dear Maestros, well ... a standard modem with an RS 232 interface is surely not sufficient. You have either Ethernet or RS485 for PROFIBUS or MPI to work with. On the other hand a PLC may not notice if the modem has beencalled or not so you will have to use a converter and some management functions for the modem. In this case I would recommend the use of the Teleservice Adapter II for your application. This Adapter is able to handle also standard modems with RS 232 interfaces. I hope this will help you.
