S7 Micro/Win v3.2 or v4

jctech01 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am new to PLC programing, just about to try my first PLC, it will be a very simple job, 4 PEC inputs, 4 lamps and 1 relay output I can purchase Micro/Win v3.2 for $120, is there any advantage in paying 3 times that amount for Micro/Win v4. Keep up the good work, I have picked up some really useful information and tips just browsing this forum Thanks in advance John

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, sorry I can not remember what MW V3 do not support compared with the actual MW V4 SP7. How ever I'm sure that XP, and Vista is not supported by MW V3. So if you have a newer PC operating system then I recommend to use the lates MW version. But why you don't check it by yourselve. A 60 day licenze you can download free of charge here: https://www.automation.siemens.com/_en/s7-200/support/tools_downloads/microwin.html Have a look to "whats new" to find the differences between the different MW version. I hope this helps
