Is there any repeater available without 24 V power supply?

SEM Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	dear Mario, i need one clarification from you, i am using CP 443-5 for simocode communication. But when i exceed 90 simocodes then its not communicating properly. So i am not using more than 80 simocode under one CP 443-5. should i put repeatersafter every32 nodes?. Is there any repeater available without 24 V power supply, Bcos siemens repeaters requires 24V DC power supply. regards, Sem

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Sem, regarding the use of PROFIBUS repeaters you are absolutely right. You need a PROFIBUS repeater after 31 nodes. If you have a repeater on both ends you may even use only 30 nodes in-between. As you know a PROFIBUS segment may only carry up to 32 nodes... and a PROFIBUS repeater would count her just like a node. Sadly I do not know of a SIMATIC Repeater without a 24 V DC power in interface. Maybe you will find some certified repeaters with the PROFI-User organization (www.profibus.org). Best regards J_Bell

Apart from that, please pay heed to J bell's advise and I hope this helps.
