Testermax Posts: 159 Rating: (3)	Hello! Im currently working on a labproject where I want to implement an alarm strategy, which take into account the different states my "plant" is in. States like "startup", "running", "maint.", emergency" and "shutdown". What I want to acomplish is to connect my alarms, both from my own alarm_8p instances and the process alarms, to these states. Ex. when in state "startup", the "AlarmTT01" message should not be activated, while in all the other states it shoul be. So far I have created my shared declaration enumeration object "Operation states" and under this, the different values, states. I have put my alarm_8p objects in "block groups", and in process object view in Simatic manager, under messages, I have checked for the states I want this to be active. I have made an "globalSFC", an SFC which controls the enumeration states (FB87 STATEREP) and when I run the program, I checked that the enumeration is in "startup" state, the alarm still gets triggered. This is obviously not the right way (or easiest) to solve my problem, and I might have misunderstod the whole concept of the enumeration object. So my question is, how can I solve my alarm strategy in the smoothest way?

It is possible dependet on process status (e.g."startup", "running", "maint.", emergency", "shutdown" ...) in OS-AlarmViews and OS-Pictures alarms displaying and hiding. fyi Configuration Manual "Process Control System PCS 7 Engineering System (V7.1)" "Cap 6.10.4 Showing and Hiding Messages Automatically in Process Mode" Regards

Testermax Posts: 159 Rating: (3)	Hello JOTST! I followed the manual "PCS 7 - Configuration Manual Engineering System.pdf" from the install DVD. I control the states in the staterep block from a SFC and I have assigned the staterep block to the same block group as the blocks (alarm_8p) that I want to supress. I have "checked" the messages in process object view from the alarmblock want to suppress in certain process states. Compiled and downloaded everything. When I run the OS and when I trigger one alarm, it still shows in OS. Im obviously missing something...I have done everything in the list in "8.11.3.17" in the above mentioned document. When I check/uncheck the message assignment to the different states (in process object view), this doesnt make any difference on the hide/show messages in OS! Im quite comfused to be honest... I actually got it to work once, after I archived and restartetd the ES. Then I could toggle on/off the different states in process object view, and the messages hide/unhide in OS, but thisdoesnt work anymore.

JOTST Posts: 385 Rating: (48)	Hello Testermax, Can you displayed in OS Alarmsytem the "List of messages to be hidden" all relevant alarms? 1) Is the "List of messages to be hidden" emty, that is a configuration mistake. 2) Is the "List of messages to be hidden" not emty, but the "List of hidden messages" is emty, that is a runtime mistake. This list is also empty According to the manual, this configuration is quite simple and not many pitfalls at all.

Testermax Posts: 159 Rating: (3)	Hello JOTST! and thank you for your patience Nice overview of the steps you made. I honestly didnt think of doing a "ENTIRE compile of OS". But then I tried that to, with no positive result Im using v.7.0 sp1 by the way....starting to think there is a bug? I might try to create a new project from scratch to see if I can manage to get this working. I would really like to use this feature Opened the same project in v7.1 and it works flawlessly!
