Hello RoxTech It's been a long time since I last used ProTool, let aloneusing it to configure a Panel on an S5, sogood on you for getting this far already. The 255 Word long area pointer you are referring too is most likely the definition of the general "Interface area". This "Interface area" declaration and associated DB in the PLC isonly required when certain Panel funtions are used (e.g. Recipes, Date and Time sync, send PLC jobs to the HMI etc). If in use, the "Interface area" does need to be set up for every Panel.Since you however now removed one faulty Panel and the other Panel (into which you integrated the "faulty" one) already has an "Interface area" declared, you should be fine. Having said that, I woudl strongly advise you to verify that the area pointer in question (DB96 DW0 length 255) is in fact the declarartion for the"Interface area" (it could for example also be a Recipe declaration). There seems to be some problems on the Siemens Service& Support web tonight, so I can't send you a link to the manual that would be useful for you(I tried to upload a copy but that failed too). Please do a search for onhttps://support.automation.siemens.comfor "HMI communication" manuals and see if you can find an older version that is relevant for your OP (should you'll find manual part number 6AV3991-1BC05-1AB0 Release 05/99 then have a lookspecifcally atchapter 6, 10 & 11). Last but not least, you should ideally also change the IM308C configuration and the "FB58 TDOP:DP" call for the faulty Panel from the S5 program. Perhaps also not a bad time contemplating to upgrade the OP25 to a new WinCC flexible based Panel as wellas replacing the S5 with an S7 while you are at it. I hope this helps |
