how to detect/count pressure pulses

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	I have a pressure sensor signal to be monitored. Constantly the pressure changes values like: 2.2-2.0, 2.4-2.0, 2.3-1.9 bar (a MIN and a MAX threshold) - a pressure pulse in the system. I have to detect max-min value and count these pulses/minute. Any ideeas? Thank you.

I mean you measure pressure constantly and detect when pressure will change direction. For example, pressure is dropping 2.10,2.05,2.03,1.98,19.5,1.97,... so at the point 1.97 you see that pressure starts to rise and so it is the MIN point. The same should be with MAX point. In this case you'll get some delay, but its better than to predict pressure.

Just save previous value in memory and comare it to newly readed value. Thats all. But keep in mind some deviations that could happen in analog signal.
