LAD -> STL back to LAD

dzwilu Posts: 146 Rating: (4)	Hi, I have a FB combined of LAD and STL, I wanted to insert a new STL network. I switched the view to STL, wrote my network. And now after switching back to LAD, some networks do not convert. I deleted the added STL network but this didnt help. The network is much easier to monitor in LAD... What can I do??

Normally all networks built using LAD/FBD can be converted into STL. But not all STL networks can be converted into LAD/FBD. Thus because there are regesters can not be accessed using LAD/FBD. So, we need to have a look on your STL network and tell you what to do. Regards,

mrind Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	If your STL network consist only of BOOL variables, you must be able to convert back to LAD. It should not contain, especially "Load" instructions with MB, MW, MD. REgards Mrind

dzwilu Posts: 146 Rating: (4)	Thats not the point, maybe I wrote in unclearly. I know that some STL networks cannot be converted to LAD. My problem is, I have a FB (view changed to LAD), where some of the networks cannot be converted and thats ok. But I need to add an STL network (searching in a DB). After switching the view to STL and writing the network, some networks that previously where in LAD, do not convert to LAD any more, I did not change anything inside those networks. dzwilu Posts: 146 Rating: (4)	I regret but it is not possible, first the project is simply too big, second there are some solutions I cannot share... I solved my problem by creating a FB containing the additional STL network, and called that FB inside the previous one. I think the problem was something with the jump labels. But actually I have no time to spend on solving it. But anyway thanks for Your time :) Regards dzwilu

DirtyJ Regular Member Joined: 2/10/2009 Last visit: 3/31/2025 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi I know the problem you speak of... develop in LAD then switch to STL to have a look at the code, don't touch anything yet switching back to LAD some or all networks don't convert back. I don't know how to fix it but if you develop your extra network in another FC then copy the network into your existing FB/FC/OB it works ok. What version of STEP7 are you using? I haven't actually had this problem since about V5.2 and thought it must have been fixed. Cheers, Justin.

For example, when programming with LAD be sure that type of variables compared with CMP>D is DINT (not INT). LAD code was converted to STL. The result code is L #Conv_act_pos // INT L 3 >D = #Conv_Pos_not_null and itwon't be converted to LAD or FBD. The correct code is: L #Conv_act_pos // DINT L L#3 >D = #Conv_Pos_not_null It will be successfully converted to LAD/FBD
