Hello SmashManfis its "horses for courses" as they they say. Without exactly knowing (yet)which "course" are they running on (i.e. how many variables need to be "remembered" per FB, whether or not you'll be usingusing Multi instance DB's etc.),it's hard to say which "horse" to choose (i.e. which one istechnically or from a coding point of of view the better solution). If I only havea few variables that need to be "remembered" between blocks calls, I quite often forego an FB and STAT variables in favourofan FC with IN_OUT's instead (moreso if these variables also "belong" to a SCADA display and/or need to be available in a global DB anyhow). If the Block however needs to "remember" a fair few variables I'd rather opt for an FB to avoid creating an "interface hungry" and more runtime consuming "beast" of an FC. You'll find anicediscussion about thedifferences between FC's and FB'sbelow which may help too in deciding which "horse" to use in your case. Differences between FC's and FB's I hope this helps |
