FM 355C Problem

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	Dear All Right now I am working with FM 355C (6ES7 355-0VH10-0AE0) PID Control Module , but I am facing one problem in it. When I configure the module for Voltage Then ,no problem But when I configure it to 4-20 mA , then the Values are not proper and also it shows Channel Fault. I have gone through the Wiring Details of the Module , But I found the same. Kindly Guide me

SINAMICS_TO Bronze Member Joined: 4/24/2008 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 213 Rating: (16)	To operate the analog inputs of the FM355 (6ES7355-0VH10-0AE0, 6ES7355-1VH10-0AE0) and FM355-2 (6ES7355-2CH00-0AE0, 6ES7355-2SH00-0AE0) without errors, certain conditions have to be met. Some measures are listed in the following overview: Set up a low-resistance connection between the reference point of the analog measuring circuit M_ANA and the M connection of the CPU, IM or ET200. If the sensors are provided with an external voltage, you have to connect the mass of this external voltage with the mass of the CPU, IM or ET200. Jumper the unused compensation inputs COMP+/COMP-. Connect all M- (measurement input negative) of the unused channels with M_ANA (reference potential of the analog measuring circuit). With isolated transmitters, you have to connect M_ANA and M-. With not isolated transmitters (connected on site with the ground potential), you have to connect M_ANA with the ground potential. If there are differences of potential between the individual ground potentials, then an equipotential bonding conductor must be planned. With resistance thermometers and resistances, M- is to be connected with M_ANA. To measure current, an external sensor resistor of 50 Ω must be connected to the analog inputs between M+ and M–.

Descriptions about wiring is possible to find in FM 355 Controller Function Module manual. (on page 150th). Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
