sinumerik 840C- 3 decimal place execution problem

rcua Posts: 35 Rating: (1)	Hi: I recently notice that my machine can execute only up toup to 3 decimal place (.001). This problem becomes acute when I am using the relative command on a rotary axis especially for very fine cuts. For example, if I want to cut 650 lines on a ring, the computation will be 360degrees/650cut = 0.553846153846...degree/cut. But if the machine execute only3 decimal figure, it will be 0.553degrees x 650cut =359.45degrees.The first cut and last cut will have a gap because of this. Any idea where I can change the dataso that the machine will read more than 3 decimals ? The datas in the PARAMETER shows more than 3 digits. Appreciate any help on this. Thanks Roberto

The encoder on the table is probably a 90000 pulse which the control system can multiply by 4 to give 360000 pulses. 0.001 of a degree is as good as you will get:- 0.001 of a degree is not very accurate at the outside edge of a rotary table.
