Simotion, 1) You are trying to adjust the motor parameters for your machine. In that case the motor should be connected to the machine. You definitely have a coupling between your motor and the machine which has a gear ratio. Ifyou have a gear ratio of 10, 10 revolutions of your motor shaft is equal to 1 revolution of the machine shaft after thegearbox. 2)If you have to drive the machine fast in order to setup the parameters, youcan define soft limitsto stop the drive before reaching the hard stop or over travel limit switches. you can evenuse mechanical hard stopper to prevent the machine from being damaged. Bottom line, you have to couple your motor to the machine for setting the parameters. Regards, Behnam www.sigmaprocess.ca |

Simotion, I haven't used the auto tune in starter before. I think you better have the gear ratio and LU per load revolution setup first. Nowyour actual positioncorresponds with the movement of the machine. Let's say 50 revolution of the motor shaft will be 10mm movement on the machine. Uncouple the motor from the machine. Setupthe starter to tracethe position. Run the auto tune. Take a look at the trace and see if themax and min of the position will exceed your traveling distance on the real machine.
