SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVE QUERRY!!!!!

v@bz Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Hi , I amplanning toreplace myold 75KW SIMOVERT Masterdrive(CU1 type) with a new 75KW Masterdrive(CUVC type). All I need to know is that what changes will i have to do for the same??? Just downloading the parameters will make it working or will i have to change the parameters as well..?? If yes then which parameters will i have to change..?? Pls advise!!

Unless your process is really complicated, then I would strongly recommend recommissioning. Getting a CUVC to run from a digital input and follow an analog for example takes literally minutes to commission, modifyinga CU1 parameter set to load into a CUVC can take days. You need to weigh up how involved the CU1 is: for example do you have a T100 technology card attached, is there an encoder and will it need to be re-terminated is there serial or Profibus comms. These add complications, but it may still be quicker just to re-commission the CUVC from scratch. Cheers, Graeme

v@bz Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	thanks, that information helped!!! Yeah our's is a bit critical process. And we have roll motor encoders installed as well. The material handling PLC communicates with the drive through profibus only. One more thing i wanna ask that i am planning to install the new (CUVC) drive only...and my aim is to take out the old drive(CU1 type) and install the new drive. I don't want to replace any of the old cards with new ones. Just want complete drive replacement. So, for that what recommissioning is the only way out?? Also, it would be helpful if you could provide me with a manual specefic for recommisioning the new CUVC drive.
